Re: Spreadsheet Password Protection Removal

Some spreadsheets have embedded VBcode macros which
Ctrl-A (copyAll) will not grab for pasting.

Kipp;
If you have several password protected spreadsheets,
and the author probably used the same password on each,
then you can open the files in binary mode and scan
the high memory table array of pointers for variables that match.
You need to be able to read all of your computer's memory without page-faults
and
trap the address where the UserName/Password query hook occurs.
A local computer programmer should be able to assist for a fee$.
If you have no luck then contact me and I'll give it a try.

Subject: Spreadsheet Question

I have several Excel spreadsheets that were written by a former co-worker.
They are password protected and I have lost contact with the author. I
would like to be able to make some modifications to these spreadsheets
(such as updating for 2003 IBC load factors). Is there any way to unlock
the spreadsheet without the password or copy the formulas to a new
spreadsheet where they can be edited?
