RE: MicroStation to AutoCAD - Urgent

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]

Many thanks for all the suggestions.

Bentley View allows us to open, view, and plot the drawings.  That’s all we absolutely need.  Conversion to dwg then importing some of the stuff into AutoCAD would have been convenient on some drawings, but not necessary.

Wasn’t there a thread on here a while back about giving electronic files to contractors?  In this case, we’re working for the contractor, and not getting the design drawings was a major pain.

Thanks again.

I use both Microstation and Turbocad.  While Turbocad can translate basic Microstation files, it starts choking rather quickly when you have reference files as most of the Microstation drawings I deal with do

The suggestion of using ACAD to save .dwg files is a good one.  Could you send someone over to the "ultimate client" to assist with the translation. I've found that if you offer to help, they'll often say "That's ok" and just do it.
