RE: Self-Employed Health Insurance?

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Bill,

I am insured via the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE).  They use MEGA Life & Health Insurance Company.  It is individual health insurance but you have some protections and power of group health, such as rate control. (No, not rent control :) ).  They have all kinds of options and choices and other synonyms.  I pay around moderate rate for the family, with some prescriptions and vision insurance, for a healthy PPO,.  I've only had it a few months, it beat prices for some others, plus I liked the group aspect.

Subject: OT: Self-Employed Health Insurance?

We’ve had this discussion before (maybe that was elsewhere on the old SE list), but does anyone have any recommendations for “economical” (a relative term to be sure) health insurance for the self-employed?

PPO or HMO are okay. What’s your experience?
