Re: non linear analysis of thin plates

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]

I recently played around with the large displacement geometric
non-linearity features on SAP, and found that they sort of worked, but I
couldn't quite correlate my results with a hand calculation. My conclusion
was that if you have any large displacement problem, you need specialist
software. LARSA claims to be able to handle large displacement problems
(that was after all what it was designed for), but again I don't especially
trust it. I would use something more powerful like ADINA or ANSYS unless
you have a super simple structure.

Any recommendations on FEA programs for nonlinear deflection of thin
plates?
Thanks
