RE: Book on Structural Steelwork Connections

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
As a textbook, I think the book is pretty good (but then again, I was the author of Chapter 8).

Chapter 5, by Jim Malley, deals with seismic connections, but the latest reference is from 1997, so is out-of-date for today's standards. For the seismic connections, I'd look to recent AISC Design Guides and Engineering Journal papers. And when AISC puts the next version of the Seismic Provisions up for pubic review and comment, or the CPRP moment connection standard up for pubic review and comment, download a copy and dig in.

Subject: Book on Structural Steelwork Connections

I am looking for a comprehensive book on structural steelwork connections, it must also deal with connections for special moment frames, EBF and SCBF. Has anyone an opinion on the Handbook of Steel Connections by Akbar Tamboli. Are there any other recommendations.
