RE: Windows XP service pack 2

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]

I finally installed it because it claimed it could fix a recurring problem I was having.

It didn’t fix the problem but as far as I can tell, it didn’t break anything else.

Really, I haven’t been able to tell any difference. Aside from nagging you about having the firewall turned off (I have a router with a built-in firewall and don’t need one on the desktop machine as well) and for some reason not recognizing NAV as my antivirus software, I haven’t been able to see anything new.

Oh, I guess IE is now blocking pop-up ads. Nice to see they got into the game about a year late (after Mozilla).

Anyway, no bad stuff to report.

Does anyone have any success/horror stories to tell upon installing service pack 2? I have not installed it yet.
