RE: MATHCAD: Anybody Else Have This Problem?

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
I too remember having stability problems with MathCAD 2000.  7 months ago, we upgraded to v11.2a  and it has been working out well.   I have worked with files up to about 2 megs with graphics, linking to other worksheets, and matricies.   The biggest advantage to upgrading may be stability.
Haven't tried my new wireless mouse on MathCAD yet, so I can't comment on your problem there.
I am holding off on version 12 for now.  This is a major upgrade, and I like to wait until the first few bugs are worked out before releasing it to everyone here.

My trial of Mathcad 2000 a few years agowas great except for one thing: it was wildly unstable when you pushed itsenvelope (with graphics, CAD, spreadsheets, whatever), and we all know nothingis worse than a program that crashes and forces you do redo work.  I think you?re stuck with having toconsider the upgrade (IF the stability is improved).

Mathcad 2000 under Windows XP.

This drives me nuts.

Using a Microsoft wirelesskeyboard/mouse combo, if I use the mouse wheel in Mathcad 2000, the screen goes?haywire?, the window scrolls up and down mindlessly (and out ofcontrol), for about ten seconds, then the whole window freezes. I have to endthe program. The only workaround is to NOT use the mousewheel (which isdifficult since I do it without thinking).

I cannot find anything on Google oron the Mathsoft website dealing with this, and of course they no longer?support? Mathcad 2000?they want me to ?upgrade?(Why? What is there in Mathcad 11 or whatever it is that would compel me toshell out another $300 for an upgrade?)

This is probably just a rant andwon?t produce any solution, but there you go.
