RE: Desert view of Lunar Eclipse rained out :>(

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]

I did get to see it between clouds and it was amazing. I could not get my telescope set up fast enough as there is a mountain to the east that cuts off the moon until much later. The full eclipse occurred tonight and the moon did not rise above the mountain until past 10:00 PM and the full eclipse was to have occurred around 9:00PM eastern time. So I guess I missed this one too. At least I got to see a few minutes of the one from Thursday or Wednesday.

Ditto in Arizona.  My wife and I got about 2 minutes between clouds with my spotting scope.

Wouldn’t you know it – 363 days of pure sunshine with clear views of the Milky Way and tonight is a Lunar Eclipse and it’s overcast and raining in the desert :>(
