Does anyone else find this incredible?  Do brain surgeons decide how to do their work based on which equipment manufacturer makes the biggest donation??
In a great many cases that's pretty much what happens with prescription medicines. And with research studies. Companies who fund drug safety studies are doing so with the expectation that the drugs will be found safe by the universities conducting the study. Money is what makes this economy go around. People who pay the piper call the tune.
