The minimum roof snow load is not necessarily 20 PSF in IBC2000/ ASCE =
7-98 (given that the ground snow load is 20PSF) Depending on the type of
=
roof system (hip and gable, monoslope, curved roof) and slope of the =
roof, it may not qualify as a 'low slope roof' as defined by 7.3.4 in =
ASCE 7, in which case, the equation is Pf=3D.7CeCt I Pg, which will =
probably be less than the 20PSF minimum values.
=20
But then you have to consider rain on snow surcharge and unbalanced snow
=
load anyway, so you may end up designing for a pressure greater than the
=
ground snow load.

Is the minimum snow load 20 psf specified by UBC/IBC for a roof =
structure (25 % slope) in USA ?

What would be a suggested minimum thickness for steel embed plates if
they are going to be field welded and you want to prevent the concrete
from popping? I read this on a structural "checklist" but have never
heard of it before.
