Check the Clark Western website out, at the bottom of the page there is a link to 'Download AISIWIN 6.0'. This is a very helpful and easy to use program. This is  a free download.

I don't know of any spreadsheet programs, but The Steel Network
(http://www.steelnetwork.org/default.asp) has a freeware stud sizing
program you can get (we got it as part of their latest manual).
