Re: moment due to differential settlement

I think I remembered in school that if you analyze  it as simple support
then you divide the moment over 2  you get approx.  the positive and the negative
or in between but not more than as it is simple support

I agree with Stan, the reality is more complicated than - and may be even completely different from - what you are assuming.  For a continuous footing, the simply supported beam approach and the corresponding answer would not be correct, at least due to the fact that there will be negative moments due to BEF action.
If you insist, though, and although I do not recommend it in this case, here is the formula for moment in simply supported beam with forced deflection "delta":
M=k*(delta)*(EI)/(L*L), 9.6<=k<=12.

Subject: moment due to differential settlement

there an equation to calculate the moment due to differential
settlement for footing 15"x18"  . 20'  long  settled 1"
can someone  have it  handy remind me
there is simple equation it considers simple supported beam
I know footing is supported on elastic support
but I would like to use it as  simple supported at the ends
thanks in advance
