[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]

Bob

I'm familier with BS codes and i can say that BS not considered seismic loads & effects in any parts.

only wind load is considered as a lateral load .

also the robutness is an important section that most BS parts mention it.

for taking the seismic effect ,most asian countries follow UBC97 code.

the most common codes of BS is:

BS 8110 Structural use of concrete (3parts)

BS 8004 Foundation

BS 6399 Loads (3 parts)

BS 5628 Masonry (3 parts)

BS 5950 Steel (9 parts)

u can purchase any of them from the BS official web site http://www.bsonline.bsi-global.com

u can take a free look in hong kong code which identical with BS

My regards.
