RE: Medical Services was - Thank ou for your kind thoughts - to Gary Hodgson

True, the kids don't.

I should have been more specific.

This is what I understand. If you have a few other references bring them
on.

The military schools are not ran by elected officials from the local school
board, state school board, and federal department of education with a dash
of the teacher's union and ACLU thrown in for spice. I believe that they
are still run like the old schools with just local management at a Mil Base
level. Just like private schools, there is a limited method of admission to
the school. The Base schools require that one parent be active military on
the base and I think, that you live on the base.

For entrance into a Public school, you simply have to live in the school
district.

The reason they work is probably due to class size and local control? Just
a thought.

Don't get me wrong, 25 year ago, most Public school system were ran at a
local level with real text books and real teachers and without the 3-5
levels of bureaucrats. Someone in the a Presidential Administration
(Carter?) realized that there was a lot of money to be controlled in the
school systems and responded accordingly.
