Does anyone know what allowable shear one would use when designing a
connection between two separate members?  I'm using A615 rebar to anchor
a prestressed beam to an abutment and am designing for lateral stream
forces.
Thanks in advance.

Candi,

I will use the formula Vs = Avf x fy x m    found in the CBC 1911.7.4.1 to 1911.7.4.3. If you are not from California, use the formula found in ACI under the section Shear-friction.

Hope this will help.
