RE: Expoxy type grout for anchor bolt

DO NOT use Hilti HY-150 !!

I just spoke with a Hilti tech rep two days ago about this very same question.  He informed me the tolerance for hole size is approximately +1/4” for HY-150.  More than that and you get about a 40% strength reduction.  Hilti suggested using their RE-500 type epoxy for oversized holes.  You really should just contact Hilti or another epoxy manufacturer.  Clearly they can give you a better answer than the engineers on this list.

Try the Hilti “HY-150” threaded rods anchor system…

Is there a product for grouting anchor bolts in large holes?    Typically, from what I’ve seen, most epoxy anchor holes are slightly bigger than the bolt diameter.

I have a project where the anchor bolts were not installed correctly.  The contractor wants to core 2-3” diameter holes for installing new bolts.  I was wondering if there was a product that would bond to the bolts and a hole that big.  The anchor diameters are ¾” & 1”.
