In this area, if you purchase a 2” slot punch, it is 2” 0/0 so when we call out slots, the length is O/O.

Is the longer dimension of slotted holes measured between the centers or out-to-out? Are there any code references (preferably, details) indicating the correct way of dimensioning? What is the accepted industry practice?
