Flexible Cantilevered Diaphragm?

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Can a flexible roof diaphragm be horizontally cantilevered?  For instance a typical steel roof deck on a box building with an expansion joint in the middle of the roof and shear walls on the other 3 sides of each half?

I know I have seen this done before, but I don't think it complies with the definition of what a flexible diaphragm is and therefore what it can do.
