concrete cover

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Gentlemen,

If a 6" slab is poured on top on stay in place 2" thick lightweight concrete panels, can that 2" count as the concrete cover for post tensioning and rebars? Also, in 318-99 the concrete tension stress is limited to 6 sqrt f'c equation 18.4.2(c). Has that been increased in recent codes? Does it border on the absurd to hand crank the analysis process with the new software available? I like trusting where the numbers come from. Is ease of trust available the ultra modern way? Thanks for any help.
