RE: UFC Seismic Design Crit

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Here is a link to a presentation that outlines the future direction of the UFC for seismic design.
I assume the UFC number of "3-310-04" will be revised since the UFC, "Design: Cold-Formed Load Bearing Steel Systems and Masonry Veneer/Steel Stud Walls," is already numbered 3-310-04A.
Also, to prevent more confusion that always seems to occur with military code references, it would be nice if they changed the title from "Seismic Design for Buildings" to something else since the same title is used for TI 809-04.

That's kind of what I figured...  I checked the UFC website expecting something since it was expected (3-310-04) to be released in August 2005.
Thank you, kind sir.

The proponent in USACE CERL left his position. The last thing that I knew
(2 week old information) the UFC 3-301-04 was still in review.

I have the draft issue, and it is a departure from the TI 809-04. Most
structures will just be designed according to the IBC. Critical structures
will be designed to remain linearly elastic.
