Re: Lateral Torsional Buckling

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
I once designed a bridge that was intended to be in service for a maximum of ten (10) years.  That was in 1968; it has been in services continuously ever since (38 years);  it has also been incorporated into two (2) major traffic arteries where it sees a lot of traffic; and there are no plans to take it out of service in the foreseeable future.
The point I'm trying to make is that "temporary" is sometimes longer than expected.

Thanks for your comments.

The bridge, under consideration, is a temporary one expected to be on service for a maximum of two years. It is intended for moving some construction equipment across a stream. It will not be used for regular traffic.
