RE: Retaining wall programs

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Of all the structural engineering programs that I hate, RetainPro isn't one
of them.

I know that sounds rather left handed, but it's accurate. I generally do not
like to use commercial software, but I have used RetainPro and it's a good
product. Further, Hugh Brooks is a great guy to work with. He's always taken
the time to answer questions for me, even when they became voluminous and
annoying.

Make sure you get his book. Spend some time going through the program before
you're faced with a deadline. Put together a list of questions and send them
to him in one shot. Wait a couple of days (if you can, if you can't let him
know that, too) and you should have everything you need to know about the
program.

Good luck,

T. William (Bill) Allen, S.E.

Subject: Retaining wall programs

Thinking about buying a retaining wall program. Specifically, Retain
Pro (www.retainpro.com). Anyone out there currently using this? I'd
like some opinions on it's ease of use, realiability, etc. etc.

Thanks.

Alden
