Subject: RE: A325 Anchor rods?

I have always understood that ASTM A325 IS a material spec. used for the
manufacture of bolts.

The spec describes both the material specs as well as the type of manufacture. From the current spec (A 325-04b):

"NOTE 1—Bolts for general applications, including anchor bolts, are
covered by Specification A 449. Also refer to Specification A 449 for
quenched and tempered steel bolts and studs with diameters greater than
11⁄2 in. but with similar mechanical properties."

ASTM A 449 is "Specification for Quenched and Tempered Steel Bolts and Studs"

If you want anchor rods that meet the material spec of A 325, specify F1554 Grade 105.
