RE: about concret dams

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
There is no one single computer program of which I am aware to design concrete dams. There are many complicated mechanisms in dams. Concrete gravity dams are one thing, RCC and arch dams are another. One of the biggest problems is heat of hydration which is significant with the massive amount of concrete. Most all of the structural issues can be addressed using ANSYS. The key is how you use ANSYS. The fundamentals are fairly straight forward, the problem is in the details.

If it is the flow net that you are concerned about, that is another issue of which I have little familarity.
