RE: Masonry Reference Advice James E. Amrhein

It depends what Building code you're using.
I believe that "Reinforced Masonry Engineering Handbook"  by James E. Amrhein  5h Ed. is based on UBC 1997.
But the "Masonry Designer's Guide, 4th Edition" is based on 2002 MSJC, which is referenced in IBC 2003.

Subject: Masonry Reference Advice

Dear colleagues,

I urgently need a masonry reference and I can not decide between two books:

- Masonry Designer's Guide, 4th Edition, The Masonry Society

- Reinforced Masonry Engineering Handbook, 5th Edition, Masonry Institute of

Which on would you buy?  Would you recommend some other book instead of

these ones?

Thank you,
