RE: Load Test

Alex:

"Although our hammer rebound test passed." Are you sure?????

Without calibrating the rebound hammer against compressive tests of the
concrete in question - you really have nothing. Even then, the rebound
hammer is not an accurate measure of compressive strength. It is a Relative
Concrete Compressive Strength Test. So, I wouldn't bet the farm on the
rebound hammer.

Drill and remove concrete cores from the existing concrete and test per ASTM
C42. This test standard can be purchased and downloaded from - www.ASTM.org

Alex:

At a miniumum, take a look at section 20.3 and 20.4 in ACI 318. It will
give you a starting point.
