Yes - Someone from my office spoke to him not too long ago.  I went to an AISC workshop three weeks ago and heard he lectures.

Does anyone know about any type of guidance on welding to existing loaded steel structures with consideration to limits on thickness and length of weld passes to accommodate concerns about reducing the capacity of the member being welded to?
