Al,

Not necessarily for "design" but generally there should be items in the geo report for suitable backfill material, compaction requirements, soil testing requirements, etc. that would be specific for "construction".

I can see it being referenced.  But does anyone rely on it for design direction to the contractor?

We reference the soils report in our general notes and its often contained in its entirety
in the project specs.
