Title: Re: Cantilevered Retaining Walls on Pile Foundation
Tony,

That is the way it is designed, however, if you have a tall wall, the
torsional moment can get quite high, in these instances, I extend the pile to within
a foot or so from the top of the wall, and design the wall to span horizontally between
piles, thus eliminating the torsion altogether

Hello fellow engineers:

Is this the correct way to design the CIP piles supporting cantilevered retaining walls:

Provide a grade beam spanning between the piles, design the grade beam for the torsional moment incuced by the cantilevered retain wall, vertical load and shear. Apply the torsional moment at the top of the pile.

Your input will be greatly appreciated.
