Usually they take "before and after" photos.  In my experience, unless they heavy pavement breakers at 50 feet or closer, or actually do blasting next door, any damage is quite unlikely.  You may want to look at a very good CALTRANS document at http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/env/noise/pub/vibrationmanFINAL.pdf.

A homeowner is concerned that a well being drilled by the neighbor will cause cracks in their house and pool.

Where can I find guidance on how the homeowner might proceed in order to document the existing condition of the house and in order to reduce the possibility of cracking?
