RE: pre-fabricated building

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]

There is a book Metal Building Systems – Design and Specifications by Alexander Newman shows a post tensioned  tendon detail with a note that says after stressing fill pocket with non-shrink grout.  The author recommends the tensioning rods be placed in the center of a grade beam.  The grade beam resists the compressive load.

He does not recommend using a tie rod because it sags.

I thought that with the length involved and rod sizes that there would be some significant sag. Would this be the case or am I worried about nothing?
