Subject: RE: construction tolerances

Mr. Sigalas,

If using the AASHTO Standard Specifications (Non-LRFD), please refer to Division II ? Construction. Also, if using precast beams refer to PCI Tolerance Manual, MNL135-00 and for welded steel girders refer to the AWS Bridge Welding Code D1.5. For concrete bridges, ACI 343R ?Analysis and Design of Reinforced Concrete Bridges? provides some insight to tolerances.

If using the AASHTO LRFD Code, refer to the commentary but also refer to the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Construction Specifications, and still cross verify with the AWS and PCI tolerances.

Hope this helps. Good luck with the bridge.

Subject: construction tolerances

List members,

I would appreciate any info on code requirements on construction tolerances

for concrete structures designed to AASHTO.
