RE: Yet another Wind question

I don't believe the UBC ever had a similar such issue.  Thus, if you have
not regularly used ASCE 7 for wind (like many outside of California), then
you might not be aware of the provision.  Not to mention, it does not get
triggered too often in my experience...most C&C items will be less than 700
sf.

Thanks very much for the responses.  I hadn't noticed the 700sf trigger 
before.  If all of us are correct in our reading of this, it isn't a 
major problem.  But I gotta say if this is the intent of the code 
writers (which seems incredible), it sure is an screwy way to 
implement it.
