See NDS Commentary sections C2.3.5, C2.3.6, and C2.3.7 for background on the LRFD Adjustment factors. These adjustments are based on ASTM D5457. Here's a link to the NDS Commentary:

I took SEAOC's recommendation to prepare wood design in LRFD. It maybe the way to do wood design eventually like or not.So I got to the NDS Table N1 on page 170 for KsubF to covert ASD values to LRFD.Why are the Ф (resistance factor) in the devision part of the adjustment?For connections the multiplier is already 2.16. If a resistancefactor 1/0.65 (connections) is also applied, it will become 2.16/0.65= 3.32.What is going on? ThanksSzuchuan
