The AISC Specification provisions for HSS apply to cold-formed tubes. In the Steel Construction Manual, the section properties for these members can be found in Tables 1-11 through 1-13. The HSS connections manual is no longer in print, but a design guide on the same subject is currently being developed by AISC.

I am not sure to what you are referring. I presume that since you included HSS you are referring to cold formed welded structural steel tubing. If that is the case, you should obtain the "Hollow Structural Sections Connections Manual" by AISC. It contains the "Specification for the Design of Hollow Structural Sections", by AISC. I thought that it was pretty straight forward.
Does anyone know of a good reference to design cold formed tubes or HSS? The AISC spec does not apply to them and I can't find anything in the AISI 2001 (2004 addendum included) for tubes/pipes. They only have open shape provisions (C, Z, hats, etc.).
