RE: Telemarketing calls

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Yep...well aware that political calls (who would have guessed that
politicals involved in crafting the Do Not Call registry legislation would
leave a loophole for themselves...fox & hen house anyone) and charity calls
aren't covered. I don't mind the charities so much. They don't tend to
abuse the privaledge...after all, they are gonna get many donations if they
are too annoying. Politicos on the other hand are serial abusers of the
privaledge. They should have NOT been give an exception.

You're out of luck there because political messages aren't covered by
do not call, nor are charities. I usually let caller ID screen my
call for me. The do not call complaint page wants the number and the
id of the caller if you have it. If I'm feeling especially irritated,
I do a Google search on the phone number--just the number without
going to a white pages listing--and it usually turns up what I need
in a few minutes.
