RE: brick cladding survey

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
You might consider pre-fabricated panels - CFS stud and track frame w/ sheathing, cement bed and thin brick tiles thin set to the cement bed.  This may or may not be cost effective depending on the total square footage required and the proximity of the closest panelizer.  The building would certainly get enclosed faster with panels and require less field labor.

Subject: brick cladding survey

I am finishing CD's on a project (2 story steel brace bldg) where the majority of the exterior walls are clad in brick (4" nominal).  Lots of ribbon windows and punched openings.  16ft floor-to-floor heights.
What have others done-  metal studs braced back to the diaphragm, or a secondary structural steel system?
Thanks for any input.
