Have any of you used TEDDS by the same software company? I think this came up on the seaint list, but the archive search feature still isn't working so I couldn't find it.

I am curious if anyone has used TEDDS and what they think of it. Also curious to know the price and how it compares to programs like Enercalc.

Quoting Richard Calvert <RichardC(--nospam--at)>:

I thinks its only intended to introduce you to their software. I ran a two week demo of the fastrak suite (which includes this module) and fell in love - now I just have to come up with the money...

Not to sound like a salesmen here, but this software deserves a bit of a mention - fastrak automates loading (even wind, and correctly at that) has all of the inputs and variables of STADD and is even easier than RISA to create and edit the models... plus it runs the calculations much like a human would (i.e. simple beam have bending only with no random torsion or axial tossed in), rather than matrix-stiffness analysis and the output shows actual calculations rather than blackbox solutions... it even checks the structure for constructability issues and can output drawings that are nearly print ready (at least of a good enough quality that you can save time drafting.)

I do highly recommend trying it out.

I finally had a chance to download and try this composite beam software. What's the catch? It has a good interface and there's a lot of information available on their website to help you learn how to use it. It seems like a quality piece of software - I'm just about to start using it on a project. Can anyone else share their experiences?

Here's a great opportunity for every engineer in the USA to get some professional standard design software completely FREE. In this tough climate, engineers deserve a good deal!

CSC is offering the internationally acclaimed composite beam design module absolutely FREE and without obligation. You can download the software from the following link.<>

Please feel free to distribute this link to friends and colleagues. FASTRAK is rapidly becoming a worldwide standard for steel building design, and this FREE module provides a neat introduction to this high quality software.
