RE: Hot Tub Loading

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Depends on the support system - uniform? Point? Line?

Total dead wt would be tub self wgt (from the supplier) with the water
volume prob best handled as a live load, which it would be when you
substitute "warm" bodies for the displaced water etc

Occasionally I have come up with a lower loading when I separate these
loads.

Subject: Hot Tub Loading

List,

My client would like his new wood deck capable of supporting a hot tub. The
exact size is to be determined. From my research I'm thinking 150 psf
(DL+LL) will be adequate. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. This is
for a single family residence.

Michel
