MINNEAPOLIS - A partial settlement was announced Friday in the lawsuits brought against the construction company involved in the Interstate 35W bridge collapse.

Progressive Contractors Inc. was working on repaving the 35W bridge when it fell on Aug. 1, 2007, killing 13 people.

Hennepin County Judge Deborah Hedlund, who approved the settlement Friday, said financial terms wouldn't be released. Chris Messerly, an attorney for victims, says the families believed the settlement was in their best interests..
