RE: Westergaard Chart for Membrane Stresses in Thin Rectangular Plates..

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]

Let me clarify:  The Dept. of the Interior publication gives moments, not membrane stresses.

I have a copy of this Dept. of the Interior publication, also known as Engineering Monograph No. 27.  It’s 90 pages so I can’t scan the whole document for you but I can scan page 40, which is what I think you are looking for.

And, yes, I am a very, very old engineer.

Michel,

Roark's is probably the easiest to find but if you know a really old fart engineer the classic document for this is "Moments and Reactions for Rectangular Plates", U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation.

..uniformly loaded and simply supported on four sides. Can anyone point me
to an available reference?

Thanks.
