Re: BIM Prevalence

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
We have had several BIM (Revit) models in the last few years.  About 1/3 to 1/2 of the recent major projects have required the project to be done in BIM.
I think all the recent Corps of Engineer projects we have done have been done in Revit. Generally, the smaller projects and tenant improvement/additions/retrofits are done in AutoCAD, the BIM model is too time consuming for these types of projects.

Dear Listers,

we here have been having a discussion about building information modeling and its prospects on the CIS martet.
Now there is this 2009 McGraw-Hill survey stating that the use of BIM has surged to almost 50% among US professionals

I have some reservations about these data as they seem to be skewed towards architectural community where BIM is more common.

I'd be thankful if you shared your opinion about how you esimate BIM penetration in the US based on your environment.
