I haven't tried to do this in EXCEL; but with Lotus 123 there is (was?) a tendency to put the data into the first available cell. If you have blank data or other abnormalities (like page numbers, dates, etc.) it may move some of your data to the left, into the wrong column or transfer non data numbers into your data. I suggest you check for this before you do all of the processing. I found this particularly annoying when I was trying to post process STAAD output a few years ago.

Figured it out using "insert from text" under the "Data" tab

I have a print ASCII file that I want to insert into Excel so that it
separates data into separate cells .. Can't find any direction from Excel
help ..



Anyone know how to do this?  I have too many data to manually input .
