RE: USGS Web Site

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
I sent an email to the USGS asking when ASCE 7 -10 would be added to the
java app and this was the response I got:

"
You can obtain the seismic design parameter values you need from ASCE 7-10
by using our U.S. Seismic Design Maps web application:
<http://earthquake.usgs.gov/hazards/designmaps/usdesign.php>

All newer codes have been or will be added to this application. We are
working towards making it backwards compatible with the codes featured in
the Java Calculator; once successful, we will decommission the Java
Calculator.

Our Documentation for the U.S. Seismic Design Maps web application is
available here:
<http://earthquake.usgs.gov/hazards/designmaps/usdesigndoc.php> "

So it sounds like the web app is the way to go as they will be
decommissioning the java app.

Indeed.

Anyone asked or know if and when an update to the latest ASCE will come?

If nobody knows I'll send them a email.
