Re: Soccer Field on a Roof

Bill,

Is this going to be a real full-size soccer field or just a practice field. Is this an existing building or a new one? If it is a new building, the waterproofing membrane should be above the concrete wearing surface below the field tiles.

If the field is crowned you could slope the upper surface to the side to allow water to drain off. Geofoam must be encapsulated with concrete to keep it from being exposed to the weather so there would have to be 4 concrete walls also.

Sounds good. How do I get water from the soccer field to the roof deck?

Geofoam is not permeable, right?

Geofoam. It is used as a fill under concrete slabs in this area all the
time. I have a stair project right now where geofoam is used to raise a
raise floor area. Original slab difference is 5'-0". 4'-6" of geofoam
